Lesson
1 — Because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can be saved from sin. Having a relationship with God requires trusting in His plan for our pardon from sin. Help your children understand that we can't do anything to earn God's love. Instead of trying to have a relationship with Him based on our being good, what He really wants is for us to trust in His goodness and His provision.

Lesson 2 — Salvation and repentance are inseparable. If we love God, we won't want to keep sinning just because we know He'll forgive us. Having a relationship with God includes turning our backs on the things we know might harm us and that don't please Him.

Lesson 3 — We are not alone in our pursuit of living the way God wants us to. Since we can't do it just by deciding we will, the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts and works to change us from the inside out, helping us want to surrender to God's plan for our lives.

Lesson
4 — A Christian's life is marked by a desire to know God and share Him with others. God gives His followers a desire to worship Him, and to tell others about Him. As your children grow in their relationship with God and increasingly entrust their lives to Him, the fruits of the spirit will sprout from their hearts and reflect the unmistakable character of their creator.
