Serving Others as a Family

Ministering to the Sick

Each year about 114,000 people are hospitalized with the flu alone. Millions more lie at home with milder cases of the flu, not to mention colds, sinus infections, strep throat, chicken pox, and the like.

There will always be sick people, hospitalized or not, and each one of them needs encouragement and service. Here’s how your family can help:

  • Visit a children’s hospital with games, a puppet show, music or just to chat.

  • Organize meals for sick individuals in your neighborhood or church.

  • Go on a family walk or hike and gather flowers to deliver to shut-ins.

  • Get teens involved as candy stripers in a local hospital.

  • Deliver soup, juices and a get-well card to sick neighbors.
