A famous naturalist back in the 19th century said, "I spent the summer exploring. I got halfway across my backyard."
Children are enthusiastic about things we have learned to overlook.

Wherever you see a patch of greenery or a garden, you can find an incredible variety of life there. For instance, approximately one million insects can be found in just one acre of land. Nine out of 10 living things are insects.
Because of the abundance of insect life, it's quite common for a child to come to you with an earthworm, a ladybug or a frog. Children have the natural ability to be enthusiastic about things that we have learned to overlook.
God has created a miraculous and fascinating world. Often through the excitement of our kids, we are reminded to enjoy Gods creation, rather than take it for granted. And there are a number of lessons we can teach our kids through nature.
For example, theres order even among the vast variety of insect and plant life. You can look carefully at the parts of a flower and see the beauty and the intricacy of even the smallest detail and its still orderly.
