Raising Successful Kids

Starting a Parent Outreach Team

What is it?

A parent outreach team from your church empowers parents to raise their children more successfully. The team leads parenting workshops that build practical, positive tools for parents. Topics include communication that works, building children’s ability to learn, and more.

Churches have utilized Parenting Partners™ to meet 5,000 parents at public schools and preschools and bring them through this asset-building parenting experience. Parenting Partners is a series of seven parenting workshops for small groups. Interested?

Here are some ways to start:

  1. Check out the website for the Parenting Partners™ resource at www.positiveparents.org. This provides resources and support for ministry to parents in schools.

  2. Talk to your pastor about how reaching parents in your community can fit into the church’s mission strategy and about who should be on the team.

  3. Bring a team from your church to a training workshop and become certified facilitators of parent workshops.

  4. You can make connections with Parenting Partners™ at the website www.positiveparents.org or call David or Patty Bunker at 800-747-1780. You can email David at flcdavid@comcast.net.
