Is Your Son Glad to Be a Boy?

Countering Your School’s Favoritism of Girls

What you can do:

1. Stay involved in your son’s school.

2. Read your son’s textbooks.

3. Ask lots of questions.

4. Attend school-board meetings.

5. Get acquainted with teachers and ask about their classroom objectives.

6. Encourage educators who are teaching the basics.

7. Communicate with other concerned parents. Join a Moms in Touch chapter or similar group and pray diligently for your children and their school.

8. Take action if your son is emotionally wounded by female bullies.

9. “If your level of concern gets too high,” says Dr. Dobson, “transfer your boys and girls to Christian schools or do the job yourself at home.”

Whatever you do, parent your child. Don’t close your eyes during his most impressionable years.
